Dr. Jeanie Murphy, a native of New York City serves as the Director of Academics, for University of Phoenix, where she is the chief academic officer for the San Antonio campus and the Killeen Learning Center. In her role, she oversees and directs the daily academic affairs activities, including curriculum, assessment, and academic guidance and governance, at a campus level. She has provided leadership for the San Antonio, TX campus since 2010 and for the Killeen Learning Center in Killeen, TX since 2015. Prior to joining University of Phoenix, Jeanie’s career portfolio in leadership includes industries in Financial Services and Insurance.

Murphy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Columbus State University and her Master’s in Business Administration and Doctorate in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Her doctoral research explored African American Women Business Owners. Her post doctorate graduate certifications are in Mediation and Marketing, and undergraduate certifications in Marketing & Sales and Project Management.

In addition to AAN, Murphy currently serves on the Board of Directors for San Antonio Council against Drugs and Alcohol (SACADA) and the San Antonio Advisory Board of the Texas Diversity Council. She is a member of the San Antonio Mentoring Forum and volunteers for the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce in San Antonio, actively participating as a Steering Committee member for the EPIC Leadership program. Additionally, she is Chapter President of the San Antonio Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, which promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Dr. Murphy believes in the scripture “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26, KJV) and builds relationships by demonstrating ethics, integrity and timely communications.
