Goverance
These discussions center on how corporate governance impacts e-goverance. Thomsen (2008) cited that corportate governance is "defined as 'the control and direction of companies'--consists of a set of mechanisms that include company law, monitoring by large owners, the threat of hostile takeover, managerial incentives, creditor monitoring, product market competition as well as boards" (p. 77). Paskaleva (2008) cited that, "electronic [e] governance in particular deals, in its broader context, with 'the challenges of modern information technologies, especially in the form of ICT (TV, radio, telephones, computers and networks) and the direction and application they should take in the different areas of life, the public sector included'" (p. 19).
