ADVISORY BOARD SENIOR COMMITTEE

JERRI L. COOK, J.D.

Website: http://jerricook.com/

Jerri L. Cook, J.D. is a problem solver whose earliest memories are of painted wooden blocks stacked impossibly high and toothpick bridges suspended precariously between two coffee cups. Today, Cook uses those same problem-solving skills that were apparent from a young age to build bridges between communities while encouraging others to set high goals and attain them through education.

A writer from birth, Cook has been blessed along her life journey with teachers who could help her reach her goals, and there are likely many more teachers to come. Cook wrote about one of her teachers, Mrs. Ford, in a piece for Countryside magazine, where she is a long-time assisting the editor, staff writer, and digital media specialist. Another article she wrote for Countryside, titled, Confessions of the World’s Worst Parent, was featured in the 2011 college textbook, Acting on Words: An Integrated Rhetoric, Reader, and Handbook, by David Brundage and Michael Lahey.

Because of the advances in digital technology, the scope and delivery of education is no longer limited by strident timetables and campus schedules. The emerging digital technology makes quality education accessible to everyone, no matter where they live. Cook knows she belongs here--at this precise intersection of space and time, in this place where ideas are easily birthed and given form through the language of code and law.

Cook holds a B.S. in Organizational Communications from Kaplan University and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Concord Law School. Her studies at Concord Law School focused on Education Law, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Law.

Cook resides on an organic dairy farm in northern Wisconsin with her husband of 32 years. She has served the community as a Master Gardener, Master Compost Instructor, and Master Food Preserver. She enjoys gardening, writing, and traveling.
