ADVISORY BOARD COMMITTEE

Dr. Phaedra Weiler, DM, MBA, BA

Dr. Phaedra (Faydra) Weiler lives in Wadsworth, IL, which is located on the IL/WI border in the far Northeast corner of IL, with her business partner and husband of 23 years and two children. Dr. Weiler and her husband recently watched the movie College Road Trip and it was so funny as it applied to them during the Summer of 2011 when they took their kids to see colleges as they explored moving on to their next stage of their lives.

Education
Dr. Weiler’s dissertation topic, Emotional Intelligence Associated With Accountability Of Individual Corporate Board of Directors: A Quantitative Study, provides a foundation to serve as AAN’s Advisory Board. Dr. Weiler has a BA in Accounting from Barat College, Lake Forest, IL in 1991. MBA/Accounting from the University of Phoenix – Online, December 2003. Plans, the CPA exam; furthermore, Dr. Weiler plan to investigate forensic accounting as she find auditing, internal controls, and the corporate business world passionate subjects.

Business
Their way of life consists of a family business, Arthur Weiler Inc., Nursery and Commercial Landscape Contractors. Their organization sells trees/bushes/perennials at the wholesale level. Ninety-eight percent of our stock is grown on land we own or rent, which covers over 200 acres; we buy in additional plants to keep up with supply and demand, such as height, girth, and quantity. Additionally, their company handles commercial landscaping such as retaining walls, erosion control, parkway trees, large homebuilder contracts, and working as general contractors. It is currently summer, and they have not seen a drop of rain for 3 months. Their ponds are almost dry, and it is difficult to deal with a drought in their business. Dr. Weiler says, “Oh, What a Beautiful Thing!”

Dr. Weiler is the Business Manager, Profit Sharing Specialist, Accountant, and Payroll guru; she feels like she is the conductor of an orchestra and exhausted at the end of every day. With the current economic crisis, their employees have agreed to various cutbacks to avoid layoffs. This year, 2012, has taken a new direction and necessitates a new business model, leadership, and customer focus; but, we will see where each business quarter takes our company.
