DIRECTOR OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

James A. Williams, DM, PHD, MS, BS

Dr. Williams is an assistant professor for James Madison University. He has a strong passion for learning and teaching, and has taught courses at all academic levels. Dr. Williams has taught online for 4 years and taught in traditional learning settings for 8 years. Dr. Williams has at least 10 years of managerial industry experience, while occupying roles in manufacturing, hospitality, military (USAF), sales, and medical professions. Dr. Williams am ardent about motivating and inspiring people to strive for the best in their personal and professional endeavors.

Dr. Williams completed a BS in Management/CIS from Park University, a MS in Administration from Central Michigan, a Doctoral Degree in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from University of Phoenix (UOP), and a PhD in Hospitality Management from Iowa State University. Dr. Williams has published research in the Journal of Leadership Studies. Dr. Williams' life goal is to continue enhancing minds and preparing positive citizens for our society.

Dr. Williams is married with four beautiful children. He enjoy working out and participating in competitive sports. Dr. Williams played collegiate, semi-professional (2011 National Champions-Des Moines Blaze), and professional arena football (Raleigh Rebels).
